Unless we are talking about peer reviewed scientific journals here…Wikipedia is as reliable as any other "single" source. It is comparable to Encyclopedia Britannica in regards to the number of errors for example. Though someone can easily vandalize something in Wikipedia, it is constantly monitored for the most part and false information does not stay on it very long. As with ANY single source, including books written by one person (even proclaimed experts), “official” encyclopedias, and so on….you should always verify the information is correct with a number of sources whenever possible.

Defending Wikipedia

I believe that Mike's intent

I believe that Mike's intent was to provide a quick way for people to familiarize themselves with him. For that purpose wikipedia is useful, even if not all it's information is trustworthy.
